Abstract
Contribution of Animals to the Aesthetics of Poetry In Hayreti’s Dıvan
One of the central forces of classical Turkish poetry is the aesthetic richness that increases the impact on the soul. Aesthetics is not just about beauty; creates complementary feelings such as creating happiness, creating excitement, creating admiration. At this point, the poet sees poetry as science. He chooses each word he will use with great care, carefully calculating it. Good poetry is the first goal of the poet who is a connoisseur of art. All elements from the earth, sky, water and the unknown are included in that poem in an orderly manner. Animals that ensure the balance and harmony of the universe are also used in poetry. Animals are associated with people who are beloved, lovers, rivals, etc., with their beauty and privileges of creation. Hayreti was born in Vardar Yenicesi. He was in Istanbul at some point in his life. XVI. He is one of the successful poets of the century and his profession is military service. In his voluminous work Dıvan, he dealt with universal themes such as love, separation, suffering and death, embellishing them with artistic subtleties. In this study, the poet's couplets containing aesthetic expression created with animals were identified and examined one by one. The diversity presented by the poet with stories, beliefs and some scientific knowledge has strengthened this colorful world. In his poems, animals living in legends such as phoenix and huma, and the virtues of birds, insects, reptiles and four-legged animals that serve aesthetic balance are examined.
