Abstract
An Unknown Translation Of Fuzûlî's Rûh-Nâme Behcetu’l-Irfan Of Sadrî-i Vânî
Fuzûlî’s Ruh-nâme, also known as Sıhhat u Maraz or
Hüsn u Aşk, is a Persian literary work which deals with
the material and spiritual processes that are likely to
survive after the human soul has settled in the material
body. Until now, two translations of Rûh-nâme belonging
to Mustafâ al-Bağdâdî and Mehmed Lebîb Efendi were
well-known during the Ottoman period. There are two
translations of the work done by Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı and
Hüseyin Ayan during the Republican period. In this
study, information will be given about another copy of the
work registered on number Ms. Or. Oct. 1623 in the
Eastern Manuscripts Collection of Berlin State Library.
This translation, which had no information about
beforehand, belongs to someone named Sadrî-i Vânî and
the translation was named Behcetü’l-İrfân fî Ahvali’l-
Ebdân. We do not know when this copy of the work was
written, but at the end of the work, we have provided
informed that it was copied at 4 Receb 1293/26 July 1876.
We did not find any information in the sources about Sadrî
Vânî, who translated Fuzûlî's Ruh-nâme with a more
simple language than Mustafâ al-Bağdâdî and Mehmed
Lebîb Efendi. In our study, Fuzûlî`s Ruh-nâme and its
translations will be presented briefly and then, the
simplified and transliterated texts of this translation will
be presented.
