Abstract
Love in its Relationship to Emotions in the Classical Turkish Poetry of Ghazel Tradition -Fuzûlî Example
Although the purpose of classical Turkish poetry
tradition seems to reach the beloved, the main aim is the art
of love itself; that is to say, to take delight in love to the
utmost, to mature with love. To this end, it is necessary to
be unable to reach the beloved, to take pain, experience
grief, to yearn for the beloved, to be jealous of the beloved;
requires perseverance, to live with fear and hope, the outcry
of the lover, to give your life. Almost all these situations
above mentioned are the consequences or causes of a feeling
that the lover possesses. However, that feeling alone means
nothing. At the core of the text, it is related to love. Because
every emotion obtains its meaning in love and gains its
context in the text.
The lover can be said to be at the center of love as the
lover him(her)self experiences all the emotions. It is the
lover who experiences all the feelings. The beloved does not
take part in this process. However, the beloved possesses
the passive initiative power since the beloved participate in
the process with what she denies or avoids to do. The rakib
shares the same position with the beloved. Moreover,
almost all the things what the beloved and the rakib do in
the process carry the function of increasing the degree of
the love that the lover feels for the beloved.
