Abstract
Foregrounding in Stylistic View and Predicate Foregrounding in the Poems of Fuzulî
To pleace a certain item in the beginning of a sentence
for a certain purpose is important fact of language in both
verbal and written expressions. This is called anastrophe
and it can be observed in all poems and texts. Such
expressions also have a great effect emphasizing and
intensifying the meaning of the sentence in a certain way.
Examples for this use are widely observed in all types of
poems in all periods of Turkish literature. This article
focuses on the examples in which the predicate is used in
the beginning of the verse or line in the poems of Fuzulî,
who is one of the greatest masters of Ottoman poetry and
some other examples from other Ottoman poets are
provided as well.
