Abstract
REFLECTIONS FROM THE BAYKARA ASSEMBLY -Entertainment Assemblies-Literary Assemblies-Stories 4-
Written in Persian by Zeynüddîn-i Vâsıfî, Bedâyi’u'l-vekâyi’ draws attention with his extensive and important information on Turkish culture and social life. In this study, the translation of two sections in Bedâyi'u'l-vekâyi’ that shed light on the Turkish cultural life in Turkistan geography and transmitted it to the present day has been translated. The first one consists of an assembly organized by Hâce Mecduddin Muhammad and with the participation of Alî Şîr Nevâ’î and five stories formed around Nevâ’î. Especially the entertainment assembly in this section is remarkable and important in that it reflects the identity of the assemblies organized in this period in a broad, detailed and realistic manner. Also in this section, it is noteworthy that the clothing styles of that period were depicted in detail. The second part talks about the impact of a very cold and violent winter and famine that occurred when the author of the book, Vâsifî, was in Semerkand.
