Abstract
Sa‘dî Efendi’s Booklet of Prayer Named Es’ile-i Sûfî Ecvibe-i Sa‘dî
Divan Literature which lasts six centuries is the longest
period of Turkish Literature. Divan Literature has been
influenced by Arabic and especially Persian literature
during the formation process. After a few centuries it has
reached ripeness and began to raise sample personalities.
The main sources of this field are Islamic culture branches
such as Qur’an, hadith, Islamic history, tafsir and fiqh.
And this has caused the Divan Literature to have a
religious identity. The authors who wrote in this field
recalled their religious obligations to every Muslim
through poetry in their works and they informed them in
religious matters. In this context verse forms of hadith,
siyar, tafsir and fiqh have emerged. In addition to these
known spices, in consideration of content, there also poems
those are again not far from these spices but should be
analysed under different titles. The Qasida -consisting of
293 couplets- of Sa‘dî Efendi who lived in the sixteenth
century which is a verse in this feature. The Qasida
consists of the answers given by Sa‘dî Efendi to the
questions of a dervish coming to Sa'dî Efendi, such as
ablution, azan, prayer... and answers given to these
questions by Sa‘dî Efendi. Sa‘dî Efendi gave answers to the
questions of the dervish by referring to the famous fiqh,
hadith, tafsir books and making talmih from the lives of the
prophets. And this has increased the value of the his work.
In this article, the poem of the poet will be evaluated and
the text of the poem will be given.
