Abstract
Characteristic of Transition and Transformation Rituals in Metnewis
A text can be understood with the emergence of values
which reflect the text. Reality perceptions are the most
important of these values. However, since it is revealed in
every culture even in every text in different way, it is
necessary to address the perceptions of reality and transition
and transformation of those perceptions.
For this reason, in this study, we wanted to adress
symbolic change and transformation into the three main
text, Yusuf and Zuleyha by Hamdi, Layla and Majnun by
Fuzuli and Hüsn ü Aşk by Sheikh Galip
Our goal is to investigate the the perceptions of reality
into Mesnevis which are important elements of Divan
poetry through the change and transformation rituals.
The relationship between philosophy and poem can not
be ignored. We used some philosophical stories although
the difference in geography and type, because of the
similarities of change and transformation rituals.
