Abstract
Me'debü'l-Fużalāiˇl-'Ārifín: Abdulmecid Bin Sheikh Nasuh et-Tosyevi’s (D. 1588?) Manaqıbnamah On Four Great Caliphs
Abdulmecid bin Sheikh Nasuh, who lived in the 16th century, is a versatile sufi who has written works in many fields such as tafsir, hadith and kalam. Abdulmecid Efendi, who was the son of Sheikh Nasuh bin Israel Tosyalı, one of the followers of the Zeyniyye sect, which was one of the respected sects of his time, also has a total of twenty-four Turkish works under the pseudonym Mecidi, both in translation and in copyright, in addition to his many Arabic and Persian works. One of these works is Me^debü'l-Fuzalai'l-Arifín fí menakıbi'l-Hulefa^i'r-Raşidín, which he wrote in the form of mesnevi verse in 1580-81. In the work, the narrations were also pointed out from place to place, five for each caliph and one for the Hasan and Huseyin total of 21 legends were quoted.
In this study, a brief biography of Abdulmecid bin Sheikh Nasûh et-Tosyevî is presented, based on both biographical reference sources and previous academic publications. Then, the examination and evaluation of the menakıbname named Me^debü'l Fuzalai'l-Arifín fí menakıbi'l-Hulefa^i'r-Raşidín, which is the main subject of our study, has been started. In this section, firstly, the work is introduced with its main lines in terms of its subject, copyright date, number of couplets, meters used, etc., based on the only manuscript copy available, and then a summary of the 21 legends quoted in the work is given. After that, the work was examined in terms of literature and the literary level of the work was evaluated. At the end of the study, the translated text of the work named Me^debü'l Fuzalai'l-Arifín was revealed, based on the only copy we have.
