Abstract
Some Thoughts on a Poem of Necâtî Bey/Mevlânâ Sâkî
One of the greatest literary figures of Classical Turkish Literature in the 15th century is Necâtî Bey. He is an influential poet who had many followers during and after the period he lived with the indigenization movement he represented. One of these followers is the 15th century poet Mevlânâ Sâkî, whose work is not mentioned in the sources, but some of his poems are included in the poetry collections. The subject of our study is the idea that a two-couplet in the divan of Necâtî Bey might actually belong to Mevlânâ Sâkî, or the possibility that the couplet in question turned into a kıt?a/ghazal belonging to Mevlânâ Sâkî with the addition of some couplets. In addition, efforts have been made to contemplate in a detailed way about “kıt?a” from Classical Turkish Literature verse forms over the two possibilities mentioned.
