Abstract
The Poet Huldî From Bursa and His Poems
The real name of the poet Huldî from Bursa is Mustafa. The poet was born in Bursa in 1667-68. He is the son of a merchant. Sources do not mention the educational stages of the poet. It is registered in the biographical sources that he only took lessons from Seyit Feyzullah Efendi. Similarly, there is not enough information about the profession of the poet. In Tezkires and other biographical sources, it was stated that Huldî was a sheikh in the Sultan Orhan Tomb in Bursa. Huldî's poems were mentioned with praise in the eighteenth-century poet tezkires, but Huldî's poems have not been published until now, except for a few examples.
The subject of this article is Huldi's biography and poems that have not been published to date. In the poem mecmua registered in Nuruosmaniye Library numbered 4965, Huldî's poems are recorded. In the poem mecmua, there are 1 kasideh, 1 Persian Gazel and 24 Turkish Gazels that belonged to Huldî. In the first part of the article, poet tezkires and Bursa vefeyât-nâmas will be scanned, and the biography of Huldî will be given and the shape and content features of the poems will be examined. In the second part, the transcribed texts of the twenty-six poems of the poet -in which twenty four of them has not been published until today- will be given.
